I was lucky enough to spend November, 2009, in Destin, Florida, visiting Sharon Long, the widow of my old watercolour mentor Robert Long. I came home with a ton of photographs for potential watercolours and I hope to post some from time to time, but this subject is from a photograph supplied by Ray Hathorn, a professional photographer and friend of Sharon Long. Ray and his wife Leslie run Beach Portraits by Design. With his consent I did this watercolour. Image size 16" x 12 1/2" on 300 lb Arches cold pressed, using Winsor & Newton artist quality paints.
