It is said a good artist is never off duty, and with the advent of digital cameras you need never miss a potential painting. But not everything you notice warrants watercolour - sometimes the things you notice are oddball and quirky. Here are some of the things I've noticed lately:

From my balcony this morning - a sight reminiscent of the Chinook Arches we used to see from our home in Calgary years ago. A Chinook Arch is welcome in the dead of a -30 degree Calgary winter as it forecasts the immediate rush of warmer air from the Rockies. The temperature would often rise up to 30 degrees in a matter of hours.

Ahhhhhhh - the smell of home-baked bread!

It doesn't get much thinner, actually...

Fear not, Abbey from Down Under is at the helm.

I was driving along the lovely Hedge Road, near Jackson's Point and saw this neat sign.

My new watch - with a difference. This also is a remote control for my new digital hearing aids. What's next - GPS? Sooner than you think. A voice will tell me how to get to the nearest coffee shop and how to get there. Spooky - my watch watching ME.

I really lost my head over this one!

These quirky earthenware pots caught my in a Florida garden center near Panama City Beach.

It's amazing what weather will do to wood grain.
